Title 2011 VIKO+C(Vietnam, Indonesia, Korea + China) toward integrated shipbuilding industry in Asia

¡®2011 VIKO+C(Vietnam, Indonesia, Korea + China) Joint Seminar on Shipbuilding Industry¡¯, ¡®Korea-Indonesia Joint Workshop on Shipbuilding Industry¡¯ were held in Sultan Hotel and Ruang Rajawali respectively in Jakarta, Indonesia from 18 to 24 Sep, 2011. KWON HYOUKCHON, Vice President Of National Strategic Projects, accompanied with 17 people participated in those events. And, In China and Vietnam, each of two guests attended in the seminar as well.

During 2011 VIKO+C Joint seminar on 21th Sep, representatives from different countries announced a presentation about the overall status of a major shipbuilding industry. WonJong Kim, Vice President from Korea Maintenance Co.,LTD, including other guest speaker from Korea presented an various opinions of the over view of Korea Shipping Industry. Dr. LE ©¢INH TUAN, Professor from Hochiminh City University of Technology, speaking about ¡®The status and development policy of Vietnam shipbuilding industry¡¯ and QIN HONGDE, professor from Harbin Engineering University speaking about ¡®Development of shipbuilding industry in China¡¯ reported respectively.

The day after 21th Sep, Korea-Indonesia Joint Workshop on Shipbuilding Industry took placed. While each session, the presentation was proceeded with the presentations mainly focused on the theme of the strategy to develop shipbuilding industry between Korean and Indonesia. Among six korean speakers, Pro. YoungHun Kim, Kyungnam University, spoke about ¡®Korean Insight on development of Indonesian shipbuilding industry¡¯ Also, Mr. Aries Sulistyono, Director at NaSDEC, gave his presentation about ¡®Cooperation of shipbuilding industry between Korea and Indonesia in design technology¡¯, included the Q&A time.

In each session, by introducing the strategy of development in shipbuilding industry, each different country sought for the mutual grounds and sustainable cooperation. Also, a Korea side, in particular, gave a introduction of shipping technology in order to promote Korean outstanding shipbuilding industry. Especially, since Indonesia is expected to be in huge demand in shipbuilding industry and desired to cooperate with each other, Korean anticipates Indonesian industry as a ¡®BLUE OCEAN¡¯ At last, on Sep 23th, all participants visited KITECH Indonesia Technology Cooperation Office to review the Post-measures and an effective counterplan with the results from the seminar and the workshop.
