Title KITECH successfully signed MOU with (ICES) Institute of Chemical and Engineering Science of Singapore for technical cooperation

On October 7 KITECH successfully signed MOU with (ICES) Institute of Chemical and Engineering Science of Singapore for technical cooperation. ICES is the representative organization in Singapore, which aims to establish a strong science base and to develop technology and infrastructure to support future growth in Chemical industry as one among  A * star¡¯s  eight research institutes.

KITECH and ICES have paved a base for mutual cooperation in the field of biomass to chemicals through the occasion of when chairman from Korea Research Counsil for industrial science and technology had tripped in A* star in Singapore.

Dr. Kwon Hyouk-chon, Vice President of KITECH and Dr. Keith Carpenter, Executive Director of ICES signed on the MOU on behalf of the each institute, and 4 keynote speakers including Dr. Kim Sang-yong, principal researcher of Green Process and Material R&D Group, joined a workshop themed ¡°Could Biomass ever be a viable, sustainable feedstock?¡±

In the Press Interview Dr. Kwon Hyouk-chon, Vice President of KITECH stated as follows: "This partnership is a testament of global collaboration in the field of biomass. We look forward to the exchange of ideas and to advance the research so that the R&D capability and global networking will be greatly strengthened," 

Due to the change in the economic structure of Singapore, biomass sector has received a lot of attention. As reflected this social phenomenon, people from various industrial fields took part in workshops with high enthusiasm. By beginning of a new chapter of friendship, both institutes expect to open a prospect of active collaboration.
